2008 - Gettysburg Battle Kites

The Keystone Kiters decided to host a special function at the 2008 American Kitefliers Association Convention. Since the convention was being held in Gettysburg, PA, the concept was to do an aerial recreation of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Special kites, a Japanese style called "rokkaku', would be created to represent both the Union and the Confederate armys. The southern kites were made by a number of individuals, mostly from south of the Mason-Dixon line.

In June, the club members gathered to make the northern kites. Club members finished six kites in one day!
